How to Win at American Roulette
American roulette is a casino table game created and developed in America. It is one of the few casino games not borrowed from Europe, although the origin is shared with European (also called "Continental") roulette. The basic action revolves around an animated ball twirling at high speeds around the famous wheel of fortune. If it lands in a slot marked by one of the numbers you bet on, you win at American Roulette.
The American Roulette Table
The American Roulette table is laid out with 36 number squares that are colored either red or black. You can bet on any individual square, a pair of adjacent squares, or any number of squares that border each other. These are referred to as "inside" bets. The payout is based on the odds. If you bet on one of the thirty-six numbers and the ball stops there, you win $36 for every dollar bet.
American Roulette Bets
The concept of the roulette table is to give the player as many betting options as possible. Outside Bets are traditionally placed on the outside of a roulette table. The smaller bets are the column and dozen bets. A column contains one third the numbers on the board and a Column bet pays 2:1. Same odds for a Dozen bet. Bet either High, Middle or Low. The chip is placed on one of the following areas: First 12, Second 12 or Third 12. The easier outside bets are the ones in which you bet on a group that contains half the numbers of the table. You can lay chips on such categories as "odd" or "even and "black or white The chip is placed on one of the following squares: Even, Odd, Red, Black, 1-18 or 19-36.
The American Roulette Wheel
The American Roulette wheel has numbered pockets ranging from 00 to 36. Once the bets are played, you click play and the ball starts rolling. As the ball stops in one of the numbered pockets of the Roulette wheel, you find out whether you have won and how much. The amount you win at roulette depends on how much you bet and what you place your bets on.
When you are placing bets, you can place as many different bet types as you want. Once the ball is rolling, there is no more betting allowed that round.
